ISN Bureau Durgapur : The bodies of the three MAMC students were finally recovered from the Damodar Barrage. The three students drowned while taking a bath in Damodar on Tuesday afternoon. Police and special rescue teams started searching. The search continued till late Tuesday night. Due to the difficulty of searching in the darkness of the night, the search was resumed again on Wednesday morning under the supervision of the Bankura District Police and the dead bodies of three students were recovered one by one.
The bodies were sent to the Bankura Medical College for post-mortem. It is known that the three students who drowned in the water were residents of Durgapur M. A. M. C Township. They were all arond 16 years old and students of the local AVB School. Around 2.30 pm on Tuesday, eight students escaped from the School and went to bathe in Damodar barrage water as an adventure hike. The friends chatted for some time at Damodar banks, suddenly one of them jumped into the river to bathe in the water. And started to drown. Immediately two other friends jumped into the river to rescue him , but in vein. All the three drowned and could be traced. The other friends raised a hue and cry . The police of Bankura’s Barajora police station rushed to the spot after receiving the news. The names of the three students who fell are Soumyajit Saha, Shubojit Naskar, VK Sheel. As soon as the news reached the family members of the three students, they burst into tears. A shadow of grief engulfed the entire area.
